I wrote, played, and recorded this entire album by myself. Now I’m giving you the CD for free (just cover shipping).

Hey, I’m Sarah Jane. I wrote the songs, played the instruments, recorded every track, designed the artwork, and I’m the one sending these CDs out. No label. Just me doing it all because I want you to have it.

how it happened

I wrote these songs over the span of a couple months whilst going through a breakup (typical I know).
Whilst still feeling a bit raw with the emotions, I quickly started tracking them by myself in my home studio.

I wrote, produced & recorded all the instruments myself (vocals, guitar, bass, piano & drums), with no outside feedback telling me what I should or shouldn’t do.
Everything kinda flowed out and before I knew it, the songs were done.

I knew from the beginning that I wasn’t going to show anyone before the songs were finished (not even my bandmates).
For me, this process made it feel even more special as every aspect of the album is truly ME and I am super proud of it.

I owe a lot to my YouTube cover days.
It gave me a platform to share my favourite songs (Nirvana, System of a Down, Radiohead, etc.) — and they started resonating with people all over the world.

That channel has now grown to 312,000+ subscribers and over 42 million views.
It’s where I first built a community of listeners who kept asking me for more originals, and it’s what pushed me to write and record this album.

It still blows my mind that so many people have listened, and it means even more that I get to share this CD with you.

what it sounds like

Yes I’ve Been Crying was such an important part of my healing process & I feel like you can really hear it.

You could probably describe it as going through multiple stages of grief:
denial,
anger,
depression,
and acceptance
but smothered in grunge.

But don’t take my word for it.

This is what my real fans had to say.

Your songs became necessary for me, I identify with them a lot, not to mention how much I like your voice and everything happened in a very spontaneous way... I will always follow your work 👏🏼

I absolutely love your writing. It doesn’t hurt that your voice lets the words take center stage without being weak or too quiet. Perfectly evocative of the pain

i can still hear the melody of that guitar in my head, its calm nature in the beginning and its fury at the end. I felt that!
